Each ``2tone mug'' created on the potter's wheel by a craftsman has its own individuality. One of its unique features is its ``handle.'' If the handle is too small, it will be difficult to hold, and if it is too large, the center of gravity will be unbalanced, which will greatly affect the impression and quality of the mug.
At Doso Towada Kiln, the handles of the mugs are attached by hand by craftsmen, so each handle is slightly different in shape. Just as people's fingers have different shapes, the handles of 2tone mugs also have different shapes. Why not look for a mug as a partner to spend tea time with?

The ``2tone'' series is created by combining four traditional Mashiko glaze colors.The ``2tone mug'' in particular uses different glazes on the top and bottom, so the appearance of the mug changes greatly depending on the firing environment. Enjoy pottery made from natural materials and human hands.

2toneシリーズは益子伝統釉薬2色をかけ分けたシリーズです。陶器の釉薬は一つ一つで窯の中で溶ける温度が異なります。益子伝統釉薬も同じく、低い温度で溶ける釉薬から、高い温度で溶ける釉薬まで様々です。通常では、融点が異なる釉薬を同じ器で焼成することで溶けすぎたり、溶け切らなかったりと問題が生じます。益子伝統釉薬の綺麗な発色を目指して、道祖土和田窯では釉薬の調合から焼成温度の調整までを細かく行い、2toneシリーズを表現しています。
